Autumn 2021
Autumn 🍂
This term we learned about ‘Autumn’. We went for walks around our school grounds and talked about changes - we noticed how the leaves change colour and fall from the trees. We searched for our favourite leaves and twigs then read the story ‘Stickman’.
We went exploring and found our own twigs to make our very own Stickmen in class. 🍁
Elmer Day
To celebrate our ‘I am Special’ theme, we had our own ‘Elmer Day’. We made and ate Elmer biscuits, played with frozen paint and shaving foam, used masks and puppets…but most importantly, shared our unique talents and skills with each other.
Advent
To help us prepare for Advent, we all helped to make our Advent wreath which was blessed by Father Polland.
Christmas Time!
To help us prepare for Christmas, we decorated our classroom and dressed up as all sorts of characters from stories.
Reindeer Walk!
Reception took part in a Reindeer Walk for St. Gemma's. We all wore antlers, red noses and had lots of fun with our Year 6 buddies.
Back in class, we made our very own reindeer treats which we enjoyed eating at story time.
Whoops-a-Daisy Angel!
Reception class worked extremely hard to practise and perform their play 'Whoops-a-Daisy Angel'. They learned the songs, actions and all of the narrator parts. All of the teachers and parents were so, so proud of all of the children. Well done, superstars! ⭐️
Fun in the Snow ❄️ ⛄️
We had lots of fun playing in the snow…even if there was only a little bit of it! We loved talking about how cold it felt, making mini-snowmen and throwing snow at our teachers ❄️
