Special Education Needs
We have been sent a list of resources that will help and support home learning.
Keep checking this page as I will update it as and when I find more resources that will help your child.
I am also working with our speech and language therapist, Rosie. If your child usually has speech and language therapy in school and you would like to continue this at home, send me an email and I can speak to Rosie about the teleheath sessions they are offering.
As SENDCo, if there is anything I can help you or your child with, or find out information/services for you, please contact me on the email - email@example.com.
Update - 3/6/2020
I recieved this letter which I would like to share with you all. We used BSquared progession steps in school to monitor the progress and achievements of our SEND children. BSquared are producing some 'Parent talks' to access some support and guidance.
Here is the letter
My name is Dale Pickles from a company called B Squared. We all know there is limited advice and information for parents and carers of children with special needs. Although there are training and support session that run, they don’t always fit in with our lives or they are a long way away. I want to change the amount of support parents can access. As a company we already run online events for schools, I now want to use what we do to support parents and carers. We created Parent Talks (from the Virtual SEND Conference).
Parent Talks is a different way to access support and guidance. It is a series of pre-recorded online talks, delivered like a TV series. The talks will feature experts delivering high-value talks with useful information for parents and carers across a variety of topics.
Parent Talks will be launching on the 26th of June and in a few days we will be launching the programme. We have 10 speakers from all areas to deliver 12 talks to you and share their experience, insight and expertise to help guide and support you. There are so many benefits to Parent Talks:
- Watch from the comfort of your own home
- Pause the talk and come back to it when it is convenient
- Access when and where you want
- No need to travel or to arrange childcare
Ease of viewing
- Each session is a stand-alone talk so that you can watch one or two at a time, you do not need to watch them all together
- The sessions will be released in 2 parts, so you are not overloaded with information
- One payment of £10 gives you access to all 12 talks
- Early Bird discount code when you register and purchase before the end of May
- Access to the accompanying slides and tools for each talk at no extra cost
- Come back and watch the videos as many times are you like
If you would like me to send you more information on the talks, including the programme when it becomes available, please register your interest here:
If you have any questions, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
