Our Intent

Design and Technology (DT) at St. Joseph’s Primary will provide children with a real life context for learning. Through the DT curriculum, children should learn and be inspired by engineers, designers, chefs and architects to enable them to create a range of structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems and food products with a real life purpose. Pupils will build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills in order to design and make prototypes and products for a wide range of users. They will learn to critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the work of others. They will draw on the diverse cultures and creativity within our school to acquire and articulate knowledge of skills that can be shared.
