In guided reading, the children are studying the non-fiction story 'The Street Beneath My Feet'.  We use the VIPERS acronym to aid the recall of the six reading domains as part of the reading curriculum. This supports and develops children's comprehension of reading. VIPERS stands for Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explanation, Retrieval, and Sequence or Summarise. 

You can help your child by joining the local library and spending time at home reading books for pleasure.
