Child Protection
Nothing is more important to us than the safety and welfare of our children. The law is clear that child protection is the responsibility of all staff members. We are committed to this safeguarding and expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.
The DfE requires a senior member of staff to be nominated as Child Protection Lead. Mrs Williams (Headteacher) is the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Mr Shuttleworth (Acting Deputy Headteacher) is the Deputy in this role. All designated child protection staff undertake regular professional training and deal with matters confidentially and sensitively.
If you ever have any concerns regarding any of the children at St. Joseph’s then please speak to one of the designated staff.
If you see something outside school which makes you worried about a child’s safety, you should contact Leeds social care on 0113 222 4403.
If you have an urgent concern about a child, or you need advice or information, you can call the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you think a child is in immediate danger, do not delay – call the police on 999.
