Geography
This term the children of Year 3 are learning about our active planet. Children will learn about the different layers of the earth and be able to explain what an earthquake or a volcano is. Children will research where volcanoes are found and plot them on a map – focusing on the ring of fire. They will then use their enquiry skills to determine why they think this is. After children will learn about different types of volcanic eruptions and compare and contrast some different ones. Children will enquire why people would want to live near a volcano.
You can help your child by visiting your local library and reading books on this topic.
