History
The Romans
Children learn about life in Britain, they will learn about the invasion of The Romans by Claudius and why they invaded. They learn how the Romans gradually took over Britain but built Hadrian’s Wall to keep the Picts out. Children will learn what made a Roman Road unique and how we can spot them today. They will learn about the Roman life of soldiers and Boudicca’s revolt; enabling children to enquire if all people wanted to be under Roman rule. Children will learn about the Celts who lived in Britain and finally, why the Romans left Britain and how this affected the people living there at the time
You can help your child by visiting the local library and reading books on this period of British history.

Year 3 Forest School
'Year 3 took part in a forest school afternoon with me today. We completed some activities linked to their curriculum on the Stone Age. We built shelters, created erupting volcanoes and toasted marshmallows on an open fire. The children were an absolute pleasure to work with, fully engaged and willing to participate. I had a wonderful afternoon working with them.'
