Uniform Information
We have high standards of uniform expectations at St. Joseph’s. It is important that every child comes to school every day dressed correctly and ready to learn. We ask that you support the school in our aim to maintain these high standards.
The school clothes as listed below that can all be purchased quite reasonably from various chain stores. Sweatshirts and polo shirts with the school logo are available from UNIWEARS, 369-371 Harehills Lane, Harehills, Leeds LS9 6AP, also online at www.uniwears.co.uk
GIRLS
- Grey skirt/pinafore dress/trousers,
- Blue/white blouse shirt, polo shirt,
- Royal blue cardigan sweatshirt. Logo optional,
- White/grey/dark coloured socks,
- Black shoes: flat and with backs. Black trainers are allowed, but they must be plain.
- White / blue gingham dress (Summer uniform).
BOYS
- Grey trousers,
- Blue/white shirt, polo shirt,
- Royal blue sweatshirt. Logo optional,
- White/grey/dark coloured socks,
- Black shoes: Black trainers are allowed, but they must be plain.
- Grey shorts (Summer),
P.E.
Correct P.E. kit should be worn for all P.E. lessons. On your child’s allocated PE day, your child should come to school wearing their PE clothes, tracksuit bottoms & sweatshirt/jumper.
Drawstring Bags are available for purchase at the school office.
- Plain white T-Shirt
- Plain grey/black/dark coloured sweatshirt
- Black shorts
- Tracksuit bottoms
- White/grey/dark coloured socks. No tights.
- Trainers.
P.E. kit should be as plain as possible. Please avoid logos, stripes or brand names where possible. All clothing and P.E. kit should be labelled with your child's name.
Y4 children go swimming once a week. Swimming kits needs to brought into school in a plastic bag on these days.
Jewellery
- Earrings: small round stud earrings (gold/silver) only and these must be removed for PE days.
- There should be no bracelets or necklaces worn by the children.
Religious Exemptions
- St. Joseph’s is an inclusive school, and we welcome children from all religions. In some circumstances, your child’s religious customs may require them to wear a slight variation on the school uniform outlined here. In these circumstances please speak to a member of the School Leadership Team. Where a variation is agreed but might represent a Health & Safety concern, you may be asked to sign a form in acknowledgement of this.
