Welcome back and welcome to Summer! Obviously this is going to be a very busy half term for year 6 with their Key Stage 2 SATs looming but we are very excited for the upcoming term. As always the Year 6 team would like to thank you all at home for your continued support during your child's learning.
This half term we will be busy learning lots of new things and taking Year 6 by the horns:
- In RE, our topic is 'Called to Serve' We will be looking at Jesus' teachings and what they mean to us.
- In English and Guided Reading we will continue to explore 'Macbeth' whilst developing our reading skills.
- In Maths, we will be looking at some Algebra and then revising previously learnt topics so they become fresh in our memories.
- We will be learning all about The Mayan Empire in History before moving on to The Ancient Egyptians.
- In Science we will be learning all about Electricity.
- PE will be on a Tuesday and Friday. Please can all children be dressed appropriately for both. Dark tracksuit (dark blue, black or grey), white t-shirt and trainers.
- Homework will be sent home on a Friday with an expectation of it being returned on Tuesday morning. It will be related to current learning in class.
We look forward to an exciting final term as we make our way towards Summer. As always reading at home will be extremely helpful for the children's continued learning.
Maths Boosters
Boosters will be happening on Thursdays after school for invited pupils to begin with. these sessions will last one hour until 16:15 and will help us to extend and enhance the Maths learning of our pupils.

Dear Year 6s,
Before what next week brings,
We need you to remember
These important things.
SATs don't measure sports
SATs don't measure art,
SATs don't measure music,
Or the kindness in your heart.
SATs don't see your beauty,
SATs don't know your worth,
SATs don't see the reasons,
You were put upon this earth.
SATs don't see your magic,
How you make others smile,
SATs don't time how quickly,
You can run a mile.
SATs don't hear your laughter,
Or see you've come this far,
SATs are just a tiny glimpse,
Of who you really are.
This weekend when you’re at home,
Or tucked up in your bed.
Have a good laugh, read a good book,
Do not let a worry enter your head.
Remember to have a good breakfast
And a good night's sleep.
Get outside for a walk,
Make memories you can keep.
Then next week whilst sat at your desk,
With your pencil, ruler and your test,
Remember SATs aren't who you are,
That’s because you are the best!
SPAG revision answers
“May I be patient with my friends, and may I forgive freely like you have forgiven me. May I shine your light in my friendships, giving glory to you through all that I do, say, and think.”
