Welcome to Year Six! We are so excited to welcome you all back!
We hope you all enjoyed your Summer, enjoying time with families relaxing and feel refreshed and ready for the year ahead.
We have a really lovely half term ahead of us full of interesting and engaging learning, keep an eye out for further updates and pictures!
- In RE, our topic is 'The Kingdom of God' We will be delving into what that means and how we can contribute and be a part of God's Kingdom.
- In English we will be creating our own narratives based on a lighthouse keeper that faces a life changing challenge! We will then write our own diary entries from the point of view of a WW2 evacuee.
- In Guided Reading we will be exploring the book 'Letter from the Lighthouse' a brilliant read linked to our History topic!
- In Maths, we will be looking at Place value and the four operations.
- We will be learning all about World War 2 in History - this topic is such an interesting one and is linked to most of our learning this Autumn.
- In Science we will be learning all about Animals and living things.
- PE will be on a Monday and Friday . Please can all children be dressed appropriately for both. Dark tracksuit bottoms / shorts (dark blue, black or grey), white t-shirt and trainers.
- Homework will be sent home on a Wednesday with an expectation of it being returned on Tuesday morning. It will be related to current learning in class.

Year Six have COMPLETED SATs!!! We are extremely proud for every single one of you, they have all worked so hard!

Dear Year 6s,
Before what next week brings,
We need you to remember
These important things.
SATs don't measure sports
SATs don't measure art,
SATs don't measure music,
Or the kindness in your heart.
SATs don't see your beauty,
SATs don't know your worth,
SATs don't see the reasons,
You were put upon this earth.
SATs don't see your magic,
How you make others smile,
SATs don't time how quickly,
You can run a mile.
SATs don't hear your laughter,
Or see you've come this far,
SATs are just a tiny glimpse,
Of who you really are.
This weekend when you’re at home,
Or tucked up in your bed.
Have a good laugh, read a good book,
Do not let a worry enter your head.
Remember to have a good breakfast
And a good night's sleep.
Get outside for a walk,
Make memories you can keep.
Then next week whilst sat at your desk,
With your pencil, ruler and your test,
Remember SATs aren't who you are,
That’s because you are the best!
